Grace is one of the young, up-and-coming graphic designers in the horse industry, with her sale adverts and business designs being seen in most of the equine publications online and in print today.
She cut her teeth in the equine world growing up in a family where her Dad competed in the sport of cutting and Grace herself in the youth. She was bitten hard by the horse bug from the beginning and has managed to be one of the few that has never pigeon-holed herself and gives anything a try.
She has turned her hand to Stockman’s Challenges, Campdrafting, ASH Showing, Ranch Riding and even Yearling Prep for a prestigious Hunter Valley Thoroughbred Stud. After returning from some time up North working on bigger stations, she realised she didn’t want to be working in a produce store for the rest of her life, and so became determined to teach herself a new skill. Whilst still working full time she began to teach herself graphic design and undertook a Diploma of Graphic Design at TAFE NSW, completing her units in any spare time she had around competing and working.
Her family were “pretty shocked” when she finally quit her conventional job to start freelance designing, but her quiet determination and ability to turn her hand at anything helped her jump off the deep end and make the leap into the designing world. She was noticed and picked up by Show Pony Graphics and under the watchful eye of Despina, Grace has flourished, and her confidence and ability continues to grow.
Grace recently welcomed a little baby boy, Hunter, into the world, and so now not only does she juggle designing, step-mothering, poddy raising and farm life with her husband in Coolah NSW, but also adding a newborn into her full but rewarding workload keeps her plate full and exciting.
